Favorite quote, something that motivates you to give your best day after day?
“For me, becoming isn’t about arriving somewhere or achieving a certain aim. I see it instead as forward motion, a means of evolving, a way to reach continuously toward a better self. The journey doesn’t end.”
Favorite business book?
The Lean Startup [by Eric Ries]
Favorite business leader, why?
Satya Nadella - Because of His 3 Principles -
A) Lead with Culture
B) Act Quickly & Think Slowly
C) Learn It All Vs Know It All
I think these 3 Principles are very important for today’s start-up ecosystem & Super Volatile & Everchanging Market.
Favorite Tech product for your work?
Has to be my MacBook Pro - My work demands Multi-tasking - which means I have numerous tabs open at the same time.. & this wonder machine doesn’t slow down even if 100 tabs are open - which in itself is a miracle.
Favorite question to ask while taking an interview?
What Is 1 Success & 1 Failure in your last role & What is Your Takeaway from the Failure - This gives alot of Insights on the thought process of a candidate
If you were not an HR professional, what would you be?
I would probably have been into Business & Corporate Strategy Role
One thing you would like to change about how corporations work.
Corporates usually operate in Restricted Manner where exposure becomes limited in nature - This is where Corporates can borrow start-up ecosystems nature of working - which has higher exposure
What do you wish you knew when you started your professional career?
One Should Plan his/her career - when they start a professional Journey eg In 3 Years this is what I want to achieve, In 5 Years this is what my target should be etc.. Then One should backtrack the goal .. And very importantly that these goals should be an aspirational on
Leadership, according to you, is:
Leadership is taking everyone along & aiming at a common goal
Something crazy about you which very few people know:

Thoughts on the future of HR
The phase where HR was seen as a cost center or support function - which can be termed as HR 1.0 was changed a few years ago - with the birth of Start-Up Ecosystem, This is the arena where HR Function saw a transformation & was started to be considered to be HR as Business Partner/ Business Enabler (Which is HR 2.0), The Journey of HR 3.0 has been started where HR would be Envisaged as "Product" in next 3-5 Years.
When and why did you pick HR as a profession?
I Started my Professional Journey as an HR or to be precise a “Recruiter” as I have always been inquisitive about many things.. & as a Recruiter - you get to know a lot of about different roles, multiple industries - this also connects to my other liking of Business/Corporate Strategy which also includes a lot of Market Research etc. And as they say - There is no Looking back.! :)
According to you, what is the role of Technology in HR?
A lot I would say - In fact after COVID happened to the world - the increase of Tech Driven HR has increased by leaps and bounds - Because today from Onboarding to Offboarding & everything in between be it Employee Engagement, Rewards etc is being done through Tech Enabled Systems/Software's & Propensity of Organizations to come up with such products has also increased
What aspect of your job do you not like at all?
Truth be told - For HR Professionals, The most disliked part of their Job is Offboarding employees, especially when it happens because of Downsizing, seizure due operations etc
Top 3 qualities every HR professional should have.
- Empathetic - As an HR Professional - It’s very important to be Empathetic.
- Forward Thinking - This is again a critical quality, As HR’s should always be doing SWOT Analysis & in more specific the “OT’s i.e opportunities threats for attracting and retaining their top talent
- Effective Communicators - It’s Imperative for an HR Professional to be Effective Communicator, As HR’s are largely responsible for Facilitator’s of Change Management.
If you could automate only one thing in your job, what would it be?
I would Love to Automate the Journey of Post Offer (Pre-Onboarding to Effective Onboarding) In short the -30/60/90 Day Journey to +90 Day Journey after an employee has been settled in an organization, Infact in my current role @GoKwik, This is one of my important projects
Do you have trouble finding certain JD's?
What kinds of problems do you have to deal with? To be honest, I haven’t really faced a challenge in finding JD’s as such, Its about how you go about the process, If one has a research oriented mindset, which is very important for a Recruitment Professional to have - Then finding JD’s would never be difficult & As many say Recruitment is equivalent to Sales, I would also add a Research Element to this.
How do you keep track of the performance of the people you're in charge of?
Given that we are now working in Hybrid Set-up for almost 2 Years, Plus my current Organization GoKwik wherein we are Remote 1st company & all our employees are 100% Remote, Communication plays a very very crucial role - So In order to ensure that I communicate, Over Communicate with my team & solve problems on the go, which can help them to be at the top of their game which in turn of course links to the performance
