We are looking for an experienced loan underwriter to join our lending team. As an underwriter, you will be responsible for assessing loan applications and making decisions according to the applicant’s financial circumstances.
Responsibilities:
- Assess loan applications based on the lending criteria
- Evaluate the validity of documents provided as part of applications
- Request additional documentation when required
- Evaluate all of the information provided by the applicant and make a decision accordingly Liaise with other departments on different stages of the application
- Deliver excellent customer service to all clients
- Handle inbound and outbound calls
- Respond to any relevant queries regarding the underwriting process
- Conduct credit searches to make sure that applicants are eligible for a loan
- Carry out risk assessments
- Keep track of ongoing loan applications and follow up as required
Requirements:
- Min. 2 years underwriting experience (or related role)
- Loan underwriting experience (Desirable)
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or relevant field
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organization skills
- Great attention to detail
- Understanding of the lending industry
- Computer/IT literacy
